Being in the midst of antique and contemporary books, newsletters and printed reference material of inter-disciplinary content, his early and modest profession served as a palette for carving him into a multi-faceted personality. Steadily and gradually, into him was born an actor, a director, a dramatist, a journalist, a writer, a peace activist championing the cause of international brotherhood and most recently a student, all rolled into one. Presently he is pursuing his doctorate studies on a very pertinent topic “Hindustani stage and tradition of Urdu drama in Maharashtra“ from the prestigious Pune University.

Performing extensively for an Indian audience with these theatre groups, three of his performances have received international acclaim when they were staged during the “World Performing and Visual Arts Festival” in Lahore, consecutively for three years in a row (2004, 2005, 2006). These were “Jis Lahore Naee Dekhya” by Dr. Asghar Wajahat, “Naquab" by Rafi Peerzada, “Portrait" by Ratnakar Matkari. Earlier a majority of plays which he has directed and performed all over the country namely "Dhilli Khaat" by Naseem Mannan, "Portrait" by Ratnakar Matkari, , "Najat" by Abdul Wahab Lunje, "Nafrat ke Rang" by Kazi Mushtaque Ahmed, and some others which he has written himself such as "Sir Sayyed Ahmed Khan (Founder of Aligarh Muslim University)”, "Toba Tek Singh" drama based on Saadat Hassan Monto, "Kahain Hai", "Dilli Ka Thagh", have drawn critical appreciation and widespread admiration from all over the national audience. His debut in acting began as a character artiste in a serial entitled “Sunita” telecasted over the “Doordarshan” National TV Channel. A majority of his plays have drawn critical appreciation from national and international audience. One of the most popular dramas written and directed by Saeed Ahmed had been “Sare Jahan Se Accha” which completed over forty performances in the state of Maharashtra itself. An audio presentation in the form of an audio cassette then, audio CDs later and presently in the process of a documentary in the making, on the life of "Sir Sayyed Ahmed Khan" conceived, written and voiced by Mr. Saeed Ahmed was widely acknowledged from the adherents of this great personality in our country and spread over the entire globe. A book entitled “Sare Jahan Se Accha” was also authored by Mr. Saeed Ahmed which was published by Haji Ghulam Mohammed Azam Educational Trust, Pune.
